Increase Maximum upload file size in WordPress
OBJECTIVE: INCREASE THE MAX FILESIZE PARAMETER FOR UPLOADS INTO WORDPRESS via ../wp-admin/media-new.php
Many other avenues were attempted, but what worked was simply to
modify the php.ini file line:
post_max_size = 40M
This was the line to modify and not
upload_max_filesize = 50M
Which is what had me stumped for awhile.

domain name registration – it looks like a bill …
There are companies out there, including Domain Registry of America, who send things which look like “invoices” to the owners domain names who are NOT registered with them – in an attempt to coax people to transfer to their service. Continue reading

Paypal inconvenient truth

I have recently discovered that when a client goes to pay their bill using Paypal – if the client is not a Paypal member then they can only use their credit card three times before they are locked out for that card. They are, thus, forced to register for an account. Continue reading

“Web safe” fonts are limiting in web development.
I’m glad to read about progress towards opening up the web to more fonts (see linked article)

Paypal for most of us
There are ways to spend money monthly with a Paypal account, but most of you don’t need to. Most of my clients will be just fine using “Website Payments Standard” and NOT the $30/month PRO version.
With Standard you can
- Send Invoices
- Receive payments
- Have a shopping cart
- Etc.
So instead of $30/month PLUS the transaction fee you have a FREE account with ONLY the transaction fee of 1.9% – 2.9% + $0.30 USD (as of November 2009). Check out the different accounts here for yourself: paypal.com–profile-comparison
Crestone Creations is happy to act as your representative and get your PayPal account going, or you can set it up on your own and we’ll just go in once it’s set up to create the code needed for your web site buttons & other professional customizations (like your logo on the checkout page, etc.). (you can change your password once we’re done).
Save yourself $$ - do these steps on your own: Continue reading
